  1. I have a black dog and we run at night a lot where she is usually off leash. So this collar is fantastic for her. I have had it for about 2 months now, and just had to replace the batteries after maybe 30 hours of use or so. It uses a lithium cr2032 battery which is easy to find, but requires a tiny phillips screwdriver to replace – kind of a pain, but the small battery keeps the housing tiny. Its a well designed collar – it has a single led that makes a plastic stip about 10 inches glow nice and bright. Due to the adjustment straps, the clasp, and battery/light compartment, the light strip only goes half way around the collar. The battery/light compartment is water resistant, but not entirely water proof. It has survived her jumping in the water a few times and doing a little swimming, but I usually take it off if she is going to do a lot of swimming. A little silicone may fix this issue. Since the leash hook is on the top, there is not a good place to attach a tag, but I just added an extra key ring to it. I had her running at the golf course the other night, and all you could see was this orange streak flying around everywhere chasing the ducks – it was very cool. I do recommend this collar.

  2. I love this collar; it does exactly what I hoped it would. I walk my dog every day before and after work so in the winter that means it’s always dark when we go out. I was concerned about the cars in my neighborhood not seeing us but this collar and a reflective vest have solved my problem.

The collar is very bright and it really gets people’s attention. I like how long the light is and that it’s integrated directly into the collar. Other nightlights I’ve tried hang from the collar and were often obscured by her body; but the light in this collar covers more than half of her neck and because it sits way up high on her neck it’s easily seen by everyone.

The other benefit is that I can easily keep tabs on her when she goes into the back yard at night. Its fun to watch the orange glowing collar bobbing and weaving around the yard and all the time I know exactly where she is.
